Used Car Import Rules & Regulations in Belarus
As per the current regulations, there are specific requirements that newly imported cars, manufactured before 2007, must adhere to. Individuals intending to import a used car from Japan are required to complete and submit a declaration form. Among the various regulations, imported cars must meet environmental class standards. Additionally, they must be equipped with at least one front airbag and Isofix attachment points for child safety seats. Importers who are members of specific environmental classes may be exempt from certain limitations related to those classes. Confirmation of compliance with the fourth environmental class can be obtained based on the relevant documents provided by the seller.

Used Cars Import Duties and Taxes in Belarus

As outlined in Article 264 of the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (hereinafter CC EAEU), natural persons from non-member states can temporarily import vehicles for personal use into the Union for up to one year. To facilitate this, a written customs declaration using the passenger customs declaration is required.
Before the expiration of the one-year period, the vehicle must be either removed from the territory of the Customs Union or undergo appropriate actions such as sale or donation. Any applicable customs duties must be settled before these actions are carried out.
Belarus Import Regulations stipulate that temporarily imported vehicles for personal use within the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union must undergo customs declaration for eventual export from the said territory. Upon completion of the temporary stay period, these vehicles are either released for free circulation or for other purposes, barring specific circumstances.
Exceptions to this rule include cases where the vehicles for personal use are confiscated or become the property of a Member State by a court decision. Additionally, if the vehicles acquire the status of goods of the Eurasian Economic Union as outlined in relevant articles of the Customs Code, or under specific circumstances specified in the code, they may be subject to different regulations. It's imperative for importers to adhere to these regulations and seek clarification if needed to ensure compliance and smooth completion of temporary importation procedures.
